This is where they share the adorable photos of their pets that they click. While pet photography might seem like an easy thing to do, it’s not. This is because some animals have almost little to no patience to sit still till the photo is taken.

• Avoid using a flash

Pet photography lighting setup is very important. Using a flash while photographing pets is unnerving for them. It is too bright for them and causes disorientation for a while. Due to its harshness, a flash can scare animals and make them nervous. Photographing pets in natural light is the best option.

• Capture your pet’s character

To capture your pet’s character, try photographing a unique feature about them or just take candid photos. This adds a deeper layer and meaning to your photos and you won’t even have to make your pet pose for a photo all the time. Just capture them running around in the park or sitting gazing at the sun and watch your pet photography skills improve.

• Photograph from their level

Get down on your knees and photograph at the same level as your pet. This is a great way to get some natural shots. For this, you don’t need a tripod, you can just use a sturdy object like a book to support your camera. Keep your hand steady and start shooting. You can take portrait shots of pets or try different pet photography poses (if your pet is obedient enough) to make the photos look even more amazing and professional. All you need to do is use the portrait mode and the fast shutter speed mode since animals tend to move fast.

• Motion photography 

To capture your pet in action, make sure that you are ready with your camera and always one step ahead. This will give you the most accurate shots. Use a fast shutter speed and the motion feature on your camera to get the best results. You can also use the burst mode for any rapid and sequential shots. 

Pet photography does not have to be difficult always. With as much practice as possible and trying out various camera settings for pet photography, you will be able to capture awesome pet photos and have memories for life.
