Lockdown has introduced many to working in the kitchen, some like cooking whereas some are forced to cook as there is no other option. There are a lot of recipes available for meals but very few for snacks. As lockdown provides a lot of free time, and free time is incomplete without some munching. Staying at home has definitely changed our lifestyle, and eating healthy in such time is necessary for physical and mental health.
Here are some healthy snacks you can make at home during lockdown.
Boiled egg sandwich:
Boiled eggs, a common breakfast item and many start their day by eating boiled eggs. Boiled egg sandwich is a perfect dish for eggs lovers out there. A sandwich stuffed with boiled eggs and mayonnaise with a dash of pepper and butter adds flavor to it. This creamy sandwich is easy to make and requires less time to prepare. So do try a boiled egg sandwich.
Homemade Granola Bars:
Granola is a breakfast food and snack food consisting of rolled oats, nuts, honey or other sweeteners such as brown sugar and is baked until it is crisp. As all the mentioned ingredients are easily available at home, one can try to make Granola bars at home, just mix the ingredients properly and roll it and bake it until it is crispy. Brown and toasted completely.
Healthy sprouts salad:
Sprouts are the most healthy cereals, which every household has, and sprouted cereals are available in the market. Although they are available in the market it is suggested you sprout them at home as it will be healthy. Moong beans are the most common sprouted cereals, boil them first and then add chopped onions, tomatoes and chilli and a pinch of salt. Garnish it with coriander and a piece of lemon. A healthy and simple salad which is nutritious and also tasty.
